Prompt: Imagine it's the year 2050. What does the world look like? How have technology, society, and the environment changed?

It’s 2050, and technology has taken over almost everything. We communicate instantly with thought and rely on AI for almost all tasks. Society feels more connected, with virtual reality allowing us to experience anything from home. Unfortunately, climate change has caused major environmental shifts, and some places are underwater. Cities run on renewable energy, but the fight for sustainability continues. Despite the challenges, people are more aware than ever and working toward a better future. Today in class I finished project and did discussion questions.

Prompt: Imagine writing a letter to yourself 10 years from now. What advice, hopes, or reminders would you include?

Stay true to yourself and don’t let anyone change who you are, no matter what happens. Life is going to throw some challenges your way, but remember to take risks and step outside your comfort zone because that’s where you’ll grow the most. It’s easy to get caught up in everything, but always prioritize your mental health, even when things feel overwhelming. Keep the people around you who genuinely support you, and don’t waste time on negativity or those who bring you down. Never stop learning, because life has so much to offer if you’re open to it. Most importantly, make sure you’re still following what you love, no matter where you are or how much time has passed. Today I worked on my project.

Jan 28

When I work on something creative, I start by brainstorming and writing down random ideas. Then, I organize my thoughts and make a plan so I don’t get stuck halfway through. I like to experiment while working because sometimes the best ideas come from mistakes. If I ever feel stuck, I take a break and come back with a fresh perspective. One project I’m really proud of was a painting I made for an art contest—I spent weeks perfecting the details, and it ended up winning first place. Seeing my hard work pay off made me realize how much I love creating things. Today in class we did brainstorming for our project.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

I took a hiatus from playing soccer, something that had been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. I got injured during a game, and the doctor said I had to rest for months, which was really frustrating. At first, I felt lost without my usual routine of practice and games. But over time, I found new ways to stay involved, like helping coach younger kids and focusing on my recovery. The break taught me patience and made me appreciate the sport even more. When I finally got back on the field, I felt stronger—both physically and mentally. Today we did new vocabulary word and a worksheet on it.

I wish i could unhear

One thing I heard that I wish I could unhear was a huge argument between my parents. It was late at night, and I was trying to sleep, but their voices kept getting louder. They were saying hurtful things to each other, and it felt like my whole world was falling apart. I couldn't believe the things they were saying, and it made me feel so helpless. I just wanted to cover my ears and make it all go away. That night changed the way I saw my family, and I wish I could unhear it and go back to feeling safe and happy at home. Today in class I answered a google form.

Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

The place where I feel most at peace is the small park near my house. There’s a quiet bench under a big oak tree where I like to sit and think. The sound of birds chirping and the gentle rustle of leaves make everything feel calm. It’s my escape from the stress of school and life. I can just be myself there, without any pressure or distractions. It’s the one spot where I feel completely free to breathe and relax. We did more chapter questions for our virtual day.

Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Last year, my English teacher told me, “Your voice matters more than you realize.” At first, I didn’t think much of it, but those words stuck with me. I’ve always been a quiet person, thinking my ideas weren’t important enough to share. Her encouragement gave me the confidence to speak up in class and even join the debate team. Now, I see how sharing my thoughts can make a difference. Her words reminded me that even small voices can create big changes.  Today for our virtual assignment we did chapter questions.

Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

There was a time when I had to rely on my older brother to help me prepare for a big math test. I had been struggling with the material, and no matter how hard I tried, it just wasn’t clicking. At first, I felt frustrated and embarrassed because I wasn’t used to asking for help. However, he was patient with me, breaking down the problems in a way that made sense. It felt reassuring to know someone had my back when I couldn’t figure it out on my own. By the end, I not only understood the material better but also realized that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness. Instead, it’s a way to learn and grow with the support of others. That experience made me appreciate the importance of teamwork and trusting the people around me. Today we did a collage and answered questions for ch 13-15.

Prompt: Write about an object that holds sentimental value and why it’s important to you.

My grandmother’s old locket holds a lot of sentimental value to me. It’s a small gold heart with a tiny clasp that opens to reveal two pictures inside. One side has a picture of her as a young woman, and the other has a photo of me when I was a baby. She gave it to me last year on my birthday, saying it was a reminder of how connected we are. Whenever I wear it, I feel closer to her, even though she lives far away now. The locket isn’t perfect—it has a few scratches from years of use—but that makes it even more special because it shows how long it’s been loved. When I’m nervous or anxious, I sometimes hold it in my hand, and it helps calm me down. It’s not just a piece of jewelry; it’s a little piece of family history. To me, the locket represents love, memories, and the bond I’ll always have with my grandma. Today in class we learned about characterization.

Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

At 16, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try drawing, something I had never really pursued before. I had always admired other people's artwork but felt too intimidated to start my own. One afternoon, I found myself standing in front of a blank sketchbook, unsure where to begin. I picked up a pencil and started with a simple line, unsure of how it would turn out. As I continued drawing, I felt a sense of accomplishment despite the imperfect lines. Over time, my confidence grew as I experimented with new techniques, and I found myself enjoying the process more than I had anticipated. Starting this new hobby allowed me to embrace vulnerability and creativity, showing me that stepping out of my comfort zone can lead to unexpected growth. Today we read chapters 10-11 and answered questions and also wrote a letter.

Prompt: If you were President of the United States of America, what are 5 things that you would do and why?

If I were President, my first priority would be to tackle climate change by investing in clean energy and technologies that help protect our planet for future generations. I’d work hard to ensure everyone has access to affordable healthcare, so no one has to choose between getting the care they need and financial stability. Education is key to a bright future, so I’d make sure public schools get the funding they deserve and that higher education is accessible for all, whether through college or vocational training. The criminal justice system needs a serious overhaul, so I’d focus on reducing mass incarceration and addressing the racial disparities that still exist today. I’d also push for reforms in our democracy to make sure it truly represents the people, with measures like ranked-choice voting and campaign finance reform. Finally, I’d fight for fair wages and better working conditions, because every person deserves to thrive in their job, not just survive. Today in class we did an ...

Prompt: Write about a dream that felt real.

I had this dream that felt so real it freaked me out. I was walking through this huge field of flowers, and the colors kept changing every time I looked at them. The sky was all pink and gold, and it felt like I could actually smell the flowers and feel the breeze. Then this glowing person showed up, and even though I couldn’t see their face, I felt like I knew them. They reached out for my hand, and when I touched them, we started flying over mountains and oceans. When I woke up, I could still feel their hand in mine, and it took me a second to realize it wasn’t real—but it still kind of felt like it was. Today in class we did a Jimmy Carter 4 question assignment.

01/07/2025

Over my holiday break, I spent time with family and friends, relaxed, and focused on improving my soccer skills. It was a great chance to recharge and prepare for the new year. In 2025, one of my main goals is to make the varsity soccer team to compete at a higher level and improve my chances for college recruitment. I also want to raise my GPA to 3.8 or higher to keep my academic options open. Another goal is to stay consistent with fitness and nutrition to boost my performance on the field. Lastly, I hope to improve my time management skills and build stronger relationships with friends and family to stay balanced and happy throughout the year. Today in class we went over class remediations and procedures. We went through a presentation on rules in the classroom. We then signed up for writable.
